Une lecture critique de cet ouvrage permet de faire ressortir sa dimension de militance pour un standard sexuel cis-hétéro-normativant, standard donnant consistance à la notion de cisidentité au nom de la psychanalyse, et faisant du genre un nouvel avatar de la politisation du corps de l’enfant. L’article resouligne la portée de scandale de la sexualité infantile, qui trouve dans l’ouvrage un nouveau topos idéologique. In 2022, psychoanalysts Caroline Eliacheff and Céline Masson published The Making of the Transgender-Child. In a controversial style, the book is promoted as presenting a psychoanalytical critical point of view on a trans-ideology, allegedly carrying a « sanitary scandal » of which indoctrinated children are said to be the victims, locked up in a movement presented as akin to a cult. A critical reading of this work allows us to highlight its militant dimension for a cis-hetero-normative sexual standard, giving to the cis-identity notion a consistency, in the name of psychoanalysis, and making gender a new manifestation of the politicization of children’s bodies.
